STI: ''ANG SARAP BALIKAN'' 20th YEAR ANNIVERSARY

08/01/2003

"Ang Sarap Balikan!" That captures the enthusiasm building up among all STI alumni from all walks of life and from all corners of the archipelago as our special grand slam 20th Anniversary Celebration approaches this August. To allow many STIers to attend, the Celebration will be held in FIVE convergence points which are all major cities and/or regions: For Southern Luzon, Montevista , Calamba Laguna- August 2, for Mindanao, Marco Polo Hotel in Davao- August 9, for Visayas Sacred Heart Center in Cebu - August 16, for Northern Luzon, Cooyeesan Hotel in Baguio City - September 6 and for Metro Manila, Music Warehouse - September 16.

The program of events and activities are designed to give everyone a good time. Aside from the rip-roaring games and entertaining musical numbers, fun prizes will be handed out to very special people who meet certain criteria: the oldest batch members, the early birds, the STI alumni who brought along their whole families, etc.

Awards of a more serious nature will be given to STI's Most Distinguished Alumni who not just found success post-graduation but were able to make a distinct contribution to their college, community, and country.

STI makes a special effort to recognize these alumni who reach out to the less privileged in the school's extremely extensive family circle of graduates. The anniversary celebration is not just a time of rejoicing over past and present accomplishments, but it is a moment to renew and re-strengthen these very deep bonds that have nurtured STI graduates all these years.

The anniversary celebration is not just a time of rejoicing over past and present accomplishments, but it is a moment to renew and re-strengthen these very deep bonds that have nurtured STI graduates all these years.

"STI is more than just a school, it is a family," emphasizes STI Alumni Association Executive Director Babes Bonoan. "Many STI alumni who have risen to the top of their fields come from modest backgrounds. Because of this, they empathize with the plight of new students who started out the same way they did. They are eager to help these young kids realize their own dreams."

The Celebration's fund-raising event also emphasizes this aspect. Aside from the usual monetary reward, the Alumni Relations Office will be giving incentives to the school who sells the target number of tickets. While the lucky member walks away with their prizes , his STI school gets PCs or onditioning units that should help make studying in the classroom more rewarding.
