STIAA Shares Blessings with the Kids

01/20/2006

STI Alumni Association celebrates the Christmas season with a whole day of gift-giving on December 16. The outreach program dubbed as“Pamaskong Handog ng STI Alumni Association” will benefit more than 200 street children of Metro Manila.

The Association will roam around the poverty-stricken areas in Makati, Pasay, Mandaluyong, Quezon City and other nearby areas to distribute foods and special gifts solicited by the Association from its members and corporate partners.

STIAA Chair Maggie H. Rillera said that STIAA always puts importance to community service. She added that the outreach program is one way of fulfilling one of its missions –to contribute to the welfare of the society.

“Christmas reminds us to take time out from our busy schedule and share some of our blessings to the underprivileged. This is exactly what the Association is doing every Yuletide season. With the outreach program, we know that we will be able to make some kids happy even for a short period of time,” Ms. Rillera added.

Last year, STIAA distributed toys, books, school supplies and other goods to the kids of Gawad Kalinga. Puppet shows and games were also held for added fun and entertainment.
