STIAA Reaches Out to Paaralang Pantao

10/13/2010

"Paaralang Pantao" which means "Humane School" or "School of Humanity" is a free school at the foot of the Garbage Mountain. It has been founded to reach out to the children of families that are identified as among the poorest of the poor and have long been deprived of formal education." Located in Rodriguez, Montalban Rizal, the program was initiated by Leticia B. Reyes in 1989.

Last December 17, 2008, the STI Alumni Association Inc. (STIAA) held an outreach mission for the benefit of Paaralang Pantao. The group brought important supplies like rice, canned goods, medicines, and vitamins. Moreover, STIAA with the help of medical professional volunteers also conducted free dental and medical check-up for the 157 kids that Paaralang Pantao took in under its educational program. The outreach mission was part of STIAA's fervent corporate social responsibility.

With STI's unwavering thrust to empower communities and promote real life education in all forms and features, it consequently honed graduates that are equipped with a deep sense of social concern and a high regard for learning.
