STI holds 1st National Job Placement Week

02/02/2005

STI Alumni are invited to attend the nationwide jobs fair to be held simultaneously in more than 100 STI Campuses on February 11, 2005. The jobs fair is the culminating activity of the 1st National Job Placement Week which aims to boost the chances of STIers in the professional world.

STI corporate partners are expected to provide career opportunities in IT-related jobs in call centers, telecommunications, banking and finance and other industries. The corporate partners have previously expressed preference on STI graduates due to their technical and communication skills.

STIAA Executive Director and Alumni & Placement Manager, Ms. Babes Bonoan said the event is part of the Association’s effort of continuously providing STI with job opportunities and networking activities. “We hope they would attend the event and check out the job openings of our corporate partners. The perfect job each alumnus is looking for might just be in this event,” she added.

The 1st National Job Placement Week will also conduct four-day career seminars for graduating students. Dubbed “Get Ready to Enter the Professional World,” graduating STIers would get a dose of practical tips and guidelines on how to successfully market themselves and jumpstart a career in the real world. Seminar topics include writing a battle-ready resume, power dressing, and handling job interviews.
