STIAA Partners with Virlanie Foundation, Inc.

10/13/2010

February 3, 2010 – STI Alumni Association Inc. (STIAA) donated a variety of medicines and vitamins to the Virlanie Foundation.

The Virlanie Foundation, Inc. (VFI) is a private non-sectarian child caring institution in Metro Manila, Philippines. The foundation serves children found in the streets as well as those referred to by other institutions. VFI exists to prevent future physical and psychological abuse of children. It cares for more than 400 children in its 12 homes and 800 children through its outreach programs. Since its foundation in 1992, VFI has looked after more than 11,000 children in Metro Manila.

To empower the children for a brighter future is an advocacy shared by VFI and STIAA, hence the partnership.

Through STIAA, STI alumni get the chance to partake in projects and activities that advance their awareness when it comes to pressing social realities and issues. A group with a steadfast dedication to promote the well-being of both its members and aid recipients, it is truly an effective avenue to strengthen the graduate's sense of leadership, camaraderie, and empathy.
